Many people desire to attain a healthy body weight, and there is nothing wrong with this. However, the manner in which they do it leaves a lot to be desired. It is important to note that intense fasting with the sole goal of shedding off extra weight, has never borne any lasting fruits. Evidence shows that you should stop dieting now and embrace healthier ways of losing weight.

Extreme fasting programs are disruptive. They force you to observe strict eating habits. You have to keep up with an all new of living including daily weight monitoring. Unfortunately, your body will take a while before adjusting to such changes. This may be a very uncomfortable and unproductive period for you.

Subjecting yourself to a low-calorie diet has serious implications on your health. When the body fails to receive nutrients from food, it utilizes what is stored. One of the problems associated with slimming in muscle loss. These are critical parts of the body because the enable you to move about and do your daily chores. You should, therefore, look for ways to strengthen and to lose them.

While on a slimming program, you will be forced to abstain from your favorite delicacies. It is thus no surprise to get bouts of intense cravings which you can hardly control. Such a tussle between your desire to slim and your cravings can seriously affect your emotional stability.

Your will to lose weight at all cost and the desire for your body eat may reach critical antagonistic levels where you find yourself overeating and at the same time inducing vomiting just to sustain the fast. This is an extreme emotional disorder which, if not checked, can ruin your health. If you find mental state bordering this condition, seek urgent medical help and quit the slimming program.

At this stage, your emotions are in disarray. You become easily irritable and can hardly talk for long without angry outbursts. You start experiencing deteriorating relationships due to poor communication. Eventually this affects your family and work life and leaves you devastated. It does not have to come to this. You can still take control and do things the right way.

The obsession to maintain a certain body weight lower than normal may turn psychic and make you lose appetite for food. It is also coupled with extreme fear of gaining weight. This is a serious condition that needs urgent medical help by a specialist. If not checked early, it can have adverse effects on vital body organs as the subject gets into starvation mode and eventually dies.

Sadly, after undergoing all the pains of extreme slimming programs, many people overindulge in eating and end up gaining more weight that they previously had. So the net result of the fasting program is being overweight. This can be very disappointing and have far-reaching consequences on your self-esteem. The good news is that there are healthier ways to attain your ideal weight without necessarily torturing yourself. These are enjoyable and make sure you live your life without regrets.
