However, this can make one more dependent on the therapist and this is something to keep in mind.

Therapists will work in different ways. Some like goals and clients are also more goals orientated. It can make you realize that you have come a long way in your process. However, there are therapists who just like to keep it more casual. This will depend on the situation. It may be something you want to talk about if you are more goal orientated.
