Synthroid weight loss is gaining some popularity because there are so many people who are looking for an easier way to get rid of those extra pounds. However, using Synthroid may have some side effects that are not good for people who don't have any thyroid problem. It is too risky to introduce extra hormones to your body especially if you are just taking Synthroid to lose weight.

There are so many healthier ways and better alternative to shed off your excess weight. It is not worth going through all these harmful side effects just to lose your weight. There is also a study that says if you've lose extra pounds by taking Thyroid hormones, you could easily gain it right back.

Why is Synthroid Prescribed by Doctors? Synthroid contains a thyroid hormone that is called Levothyroxine. This medication is given to patients who are being treated for hypothyroidism. Synthroid provides the additional hormone that is not being produced adequately by the patient's body. If you are suffering from hypothyroidism and you lack this hormone, your body will not function properly. People who have hypothyroidism has poor growth, gains weight, lacks energy, sensitive to coldness and has dry, thick skin. Synthroid may also be used for the treatment of goiter and congenital hypothyroidism. Some doctors also prescribe this drug for other uses.

How Does Too Much Thyroid Hormone Affect Us? Some people associate Synthroid and weight loss but there are harmful drawbacks that are brought about by too much Thyroid hormone in the body. If you have heart problems, you should not take Synthroid because it can increase your heart rate and cause heart failure. People who have excess hormone are always moody and have emotional swings. They can also experience insomnia, nervousness, palpitations, weakness and shortness of breath.

Eat foods that are high in lean protein. These foods for weight loss include eggs, fish, lean meat, milk, tofu, low fat yoghurt and cheese. Food containing lean proteins can replace small amounts of fat and carbohydrate in your body that will greatly help in shedding unwanted fat. You don't have to take any medication or prescription drugs like Synthroid just to lose weight. Doctors and health experts do not recommend taking this medication just for the sole purpose of getting thinner. Remember that having a clean lifestyle, being active and eating healthier foods are still the best and most recommended ways in losing weight safely.
