It seems that lasers have always been "cutting technology." They were the coolest light shows in concerts, raves, and other parties. They were the high-class fix it for eye surgery. They are the most accurate cutting tools in the world. They are used in the most effective security systems. They provide the best home entertainment if you own a cat or dog. They are used in art, science, engineering, medicine, entertainment, technology, and so on. They come in a variety of sizes, colors, and strengths.

Envious friends would ask what he did to get such perfect white teeth, but he never answered. Was it whitening strips? Did he have professional work done by the dentist in Cottonwood Heights? Was it a secret mouth wash or tooth paste? Or was it just the luck of the genetic draw, like the rest of his handsome features? They had to know. But he would only smile, making them ever more envious.

Dentists do all they can to reverse this effect. They give kids free stickers, toys, and even candy. They put nice pictures on the walls and paint the office in comforting colors. They play nice music and provide more magazines than any other office on earth. The workers are friendly and gentle and they let you pick your own color of toothbrush when you leave. For people with healthy teeth, the dentist's office really is a pleasant place to be. If not pleasant, it's at least not negative.

Under oath to never tell anyone in the city, he told me everything. Good oral hygiene on a daily basis. That was it. I asked him to explain. He said that he does what everyone should do on a daily basis. There really was no secret. He brushed diligently twice a day, for two and a half minutes. He flossed before bed every night.

Lasers can be used for cleaning, surgery, and other treatment. Cleaning lasers are aimed at bacteria, plaque build-up and other harmful substances. These pen-like lasers vaporize harmful oral intrusions and make cleaning easy and painless.

Similarly related to functionality is health. First of all, misaligned teeth can cause jaw problems for many people. Especially overbites, underbites, and crossbites can lead to jaw pain, difficulty chewing, difficulty speaking, and even difficulty breathing at night. If you suffer from any of these health issues, consult your Draper dentist to see if your teeth could be the culprit. From there, you can decide whether or not to get braces.

Lasers are much more precise than drills and can preserve more of the healthy parts of the teeth. They also eliminate the uncomfortable and unsettling vibrations that come with drilling. Furthermore, they work faster than drills, both innately and considering that most procedures don't require the numbing of the mouth (which cuts out waiting time).

I had one more question. Why the secrecy? He turned and smiled. My heart skipped a beat. "My power lies in mystery. I enjoy keeping people on their toes. And I think they rather enjoy it. Don't you regret the loss of mystery and wonderment now that I've told you?" I did. It was true. But I found consolation in sharing in his secret. From then on, I understood the enjoyment he got out of making everybody wonder. And there was no harm in the secret. After all, the answer was no secret.
