The weekends are often full of fun and adventure for families from all walks of life. Sometimes however injuries and illness usually happen on a weekend when your doctor's office is closed. This is when you can get help from Urgent Care Mobile AL.

The first assessment you need to make is whether the condition is life threatening or not. If someone is having difficulty breathing such as with asthma you must determine whether it is a severe breathing problem or mild or moderate. If the breathing condition is mild to moderate and the person can take breaths and can talk and walk and it does not appear to be life threatening this is whey you may want to visit an urgent care clinic.

There are a host of medical conditions that warrant immediate medical attention. Other conditions such as broken fingers or toes, or fevers and flus can be cared for at the center. You will know when a condition is life threatening if the person loses consciousness or is confused or otherwise unresponsive to you.

These types of medical facilities for otherwise non emergency conditions are equipped only to deal with mild to moderate medical conditions. They may prescribe or treat the condition and give you instructions to follow upon your return home. They will determine if the condition warrants further treatment and will send you to another medical facility or the ER if they find your condition to be life threatening.

If you have an illness or injury that does not impair the ability to communicate or move then you should seek help from the urgent care clinic. This can include things like a broken toe or finger, a strain or sprain or flu and fever. These conditions can be treated with simple medical procedures. Others which are life threatening require extensive medical treatment in an ER.

If you can always be aware of where your urgent centers are in your area. This will save time if you need to drive to one in the event it is needed. These facilities are open on the weekends, holidays, at night and other times when you can't see your family doctor.

You should not use an emergency room if your condition is not life threatening. Doing so creates a risk to other patients who really need emergency attention and this takes away from the staffing for that attention. If it is a non-life threatening condition always use an urgent center for treatment or your family doctor if they are available.

Remember not to panic in an emergency situation and always call 911 if you deem the condition to be life threatening. Getting proper medical help when needed can save lives. Pay attention to your health and do not let any condition go untreated for any length of time.
