Glaucoma is a serious disease that results in the damage of optic nerves and can result into total blindness if not treated in time. Various studies by scientists have shown that the disease is caused by increased pressure within an eye. The medicine applied either prevents eye from making more fluid or lower the pressure by letting the fluid drain from an eye. The other type of treatment is the laser trabeculoplasty that is used to help in draining the fluid out of the eye. This is usually performed after the doctor has been advised to do so.

Conventional surgery makes an opening that allows the fluid to leave an eye. This is mainly done after all the other methods have failed to regulate the pressure. This is only performed after the doctor has suggested, depending on the condition of the eye.
