Pregnant women are known to suffer from mild to serious backache attacks. From early to latter stage of pregnancy, different types of ache normally occur. However, only mild and all-natural relief to back pain must be given because of the small baby inside the womb. Obviously, any kind of painkiller medicine is a no-no. Both herbal tea and herbal oil for massage must only be used when according to doctor's orders. When using peppermint flavored bath salts, always check the package for any precautionary message. The pregnancy back brace is also a very effective solution towards this problem.

The pregnancy causes the softening of the ligaments as well as stretching of the abdominal muscles. The other changes expected include the gain in weight which leads to change in posture. All these factors put together, there is an excess strain to the pelvic region as well as the spine. The resulting pain is felt at the low back, and at the pelvis. In most cases, it is not severe and one can walk normally. However, it can be achiness or sharp preventing you from the normal activities like walking.

The backache during this period is caused by a combination of factors such as an increased weight of the developing fetus leading to pressure on the spine and the pelvic region as well as a change in the posture. The increase in hormones has also been blamed. Naturally, the increased hormone level is required to maintain gestation. High levels of hormones causes relaxation of ligaments, joints and muscles, leading to pain when moving.

If you are lifting a heavy object, always try to squat with your legs and keep your spine straight, using your legs to lift. Many people incorrectly think a back brace supports their spine. A brace is simply a reminder to use proper lifting techniques. Bending at your waist is a large mistake that places unnecessary pressure on your pelvis and spine.

For persistent backache, a very mild massage may be part of the physiotherapy that may be doctor-prescribed as remedy. Some discomfort may be caused by a mild spinal subluxations or vertebral misalignment. Seek a spinal wellness care specialist with good standing to perform minor non-invasive spinal adjustment.

When sitting, pillows should be placed on the lower back to serve as a support. Having a comfort on this area offers comfort to the stressed pelvic muscles. A poor sitting posture can shorten muscles surrounding the lower spine, thereby causing pain when moving. Keeping the neck and upper pelvic aligned when sitting is a good practice. However, do not overdo it as one may feel a bit uncomfortable when trying to rest.

Wear low-heeled or flat shoes. In addition to increased risk for falls when wearing high-heeled footwear, an added pressure on the lower spine region is produced when these are worn during the lactation period. Most women who are used to wearing high-heels usually complain about this recommendation. It is best not to compromise your health for fashion or any other reason. There is no other priority that can exceed your health and the health of your growing baby.

Also for females, it is crucial to be fitted for a bra that fits correctly and is comfortable. Pregnant females can find that a pregnancy support belt helps improve your posture. Children also need to watch how much weight is placed in a backpack or may use a rolling backpack to tote all those heavy books around.
