We all know how important it is to engage is some type of regular exercise. Typically, finding activities that you truly enjoy makes it easier to stick with any type of exercise regime. Even if you love your daily workout, there is no getting around the fact that sometimes exercise and discomfort go hand in hand. There are many ways to make exercise more comfortable and less painful, here are some easy suggestions.

One easy way to stay comfortable is to wear the proper clothing. Most sports have clothing created specifically for the type of activity. Compression sportswear is another option, and compression clothes have been created for many different types of sports. Runners and long-distance walkers or hikers often wear compression clothing because it prevents the chafing that leads to a great deal of pain. Raw, red skin is very painful and definitely can keep you from wanting to exercise. Of course, it also has been said that compression wear can increase your strength and endurance. While that may or may not be true, many people find them very comfortable and when you are comfortable, exercise is easier.

Athletes also sometimes wear compression socks and sleeves, especially runners and distance walkers or hikers. For hikers, these socks and sleeves can help prevent scratches as well as preventing swelling. While there isn't a lot of hard evidence out there, many athletes report that wearing compression clothing can reduce the fatigue often associated with a hard workout, especially the day after when soreness often is a problem.

If your feet are in pain, exercise (unless you are a professional rower) can be almost impossible. When our footwear doesn't fit properly, this can negatively impact our ability to get a good workout. It doesn't even really matter what type of exercise you are doing. Walking, running, biking, hiking, dance, tennis and just about every activity that requires shoes is hindered severely when your shoes are not comfortable. So you need to find a favorite brand and style that supports your foot properly and is comfortable. When you find this magic pair of shoes, buy an extra pair, so that you can air them out and reduce wear.

When muscles are particularly sore or strained but you still want to work out, using a product such as a physiological hybrid shape can help you overcome the pain. A physiological hybrid shape is a unique type of muscle support system that not only reduces pain but also can help speed up the healing process. The shape covers and protects a sore muscle, and the "arms" of the shape reach out to nearby muscles which provide extra strength to help you move more freely.

Unlike tapes and braces which prohibit movement, these physiological hybrid shapes allow more fluid movement and they are easy to apply. They provide up to five days of muscle support and pain relief without the use of any drugs or medicines. There are shapes specifically designed to support the upper back and lower back, as well as the shoulders, knees, elbows, legs and arms.
