If you have a son or daughter that deals with any kind of addiction, you may wonder what if every treatment program is the same. Many parents find themselves helping their sons and daughters with appropriate treatment programs. These programs are often hard to deal with and experience for multiple reasons. It is said that only 15% of all addicts fully recover from an addiction because of a rehab program. Most rehab programs simply don't work.

Addicts often feel like nobody cares about them and they are trying to numb inner pain through drinking alcohol or taking drugs. There is nothing worse than seeing an addict's life that is completely spinning out of control. When an addict feels like their life is in pain, they begin to wonder if recovery is possible. It is up to the loved ones of the addict to allow them to see hope again. You can try talking to them about their addiction in order to let them see that they need professional help.

If you have a strong belief in God, you begin to see doors opening for you rather quickly in rehab. Rehabilitation is a time in which you can sit down with yourself and get in touch with what is really going on inside of you. Many addicts feel that their lives are put into a painful experience in rehab. You have to go deep into your thoughts and try to explain why you take drugs and drink alcohol to begin with. This is never an easy task and most addicts say that they don't like to touch on these areas at all.

A lot of addicts feel free from drugs and alcohol once they enter rehab. Most rehab programs combine faith with sober living. The addict is taught life skills on how to get a job and get back into society. The memories that an addict has is often hard for them to overcome. If you look at life in a nutshell, you will be able to see that addicts tend to respond best when they are in a controlled environment. When they experience structure, they begin to see that living sober for life is possible.

It is important to get into a treatment program that allows you to practice your faith. Once you start reading spiritual books, you begin to see that there is a loving God that cares about your soul and what happens to you. Once a person gets into their spirituality, they begin to see that their life is centered on someone else. They no longer are alone. The founder of Alcoholics Anonymous (Bill Wilson), said that he could not stay sober until he combined his faith his sobriety. It was at that point that he put alcohol behind him.
