This workout plan is important for some reasons. For one, it helps in boosting speed. Apart from the usual swimming drills, there is another thing that is also important. Stretching helps an athlete to achieve flexibility. One may wonder if being flexible could have any importance in such an event. Well, it is without no doubt that it might be essential as it helps in boosting overall strength when doing strokes.

Recovery time serves the same purpose as all the other workout exercises. The only difference here is that one will not be required to engage a lot in the physical activity. Instead, they are given massages now and then to reduce tension and stress suffered from the workouts.

Finally, nutrition is also important here. Since swimming is a physical activity that tends to burn a lot of calories, athletes are advised to take a lot of healthy foods. Eating healthy foodstuffs entails making sure they regain the calories lost during such activity. This way they will be able to regain and maintain the energy needed for both training and competing in the race.

To compete successfully, one needs a proper workout plan to help them in their training and also ensure that they follow through it completely.
