If you are a female, you must likely have heard about an obstetrician or gynecologist. However, this does not necessarily mean that you understand how important these doctors are to you. You should realize that you need to develop a relationship with an obgyn Reno. Here is why and occasions that require that you see one of these professionals.

Young girls in their teens need to see a gyna. This is whether they have become sexually active or not, but more so, when they have become active sexually. It is essential that that they see the doctor before they reach twenty one. This doctor will carry out a physical check, to make sure that everything in their body is working okay, especially the reproductive organs. If there are any potential problems, they will point this out.

If you discover that you are pregnant or you suspect that you are, see a doctor for a confirmation. If the test comes out positive, the doctor will put you on vitamins that are essential to the growth of your baby. You will need to see the doctor from time to time until the day of your delivery. Therefore, having a dedicated obstetrician for this purpose is important.

Even if you are okay and you feel that everything is fine with you, you should still organize check-ups with your doctor. This should be at least annually or after at least every few years. The purpose of these checkups is for you to get pap smears. The doctor will also check if your general health is okay.

If you notice any irregular bleeding, go to the doctor immediately. This is any bleeding that is outside your menstrual cycle. It could be bleeding when you are having sex or after you have passed menopause. This could be a sign that all is not well with you. Also, if you notice any bleeding during pregnancy, go and see your doctor.

If you are feeling a burning sensation or unease around your vaginal area, it signifies that something is out of place. It could mean that you might have an infection. It could be a yeast, bacterial or urinary tract infection. It could also be a disease that has been sexually transmitted.

If your periods become irregular, consult a doctor. This could mean experiencing heavier flows than usual or lighter ones. It could also be that your periods are coming for many more days than they normally do. This applies even for women who are undergoing menopause.

Regular breast examinations are important. You should have this done from time to time. If possible, , have it done once a year, particularly if you have a record of someone in your family having have had breast cancer. Also, older women should be keen to undergo these tests. It could save their lives, especially, if they are diagnosed to have breast cancer.
