With the hectic lifestyles of today, it is possible to suffer a minor injury and not realize it until much later that evening. Just stepping off a curb that turned out to be higher than you thought, often causes a sprained ankle or heel. It may be time for an appointment at one of the Chiropractors in Peabody MA.

When you arrive at your appointment, the staff will hand you some paperwork to fill out. Be sure you list all prescribed medications as the doctor must know to prevent drug interactions. Once your paperwork is complete, a technician will lead you to an examination room where you wait to speak to the doctor.

In the beginning, the doctor will ask additional questions and conduct a few preliminary tests to determine the severity of the discomfort. Dexterity tests and other balance related exercises help determine if there is any nerve involvement and identify the most likely place of origin.

The physical examine includes taking X-rays for a better look at the painful area. In most cases, the technician helps you lay down on the examination table where the doctor will walk your spinal column with his or her fingertips. During this process, they are looking for any misalignments responsible for the pain you are experiencing.

Chiropractic is a holistic approach to whole body wellness and a return to optimal health. Not all pain results in a need for surgery and your doctor will discuss all of the findings and succeed with the best course of action in alleviating your discomfort.

At the first sign of pain, it is important to seek medical attention as quickly as possible. Prolonged pain results in additional tissue damage that can require surgery. Perhaps it is time for you to call ahead for an appointment to discover the source of your pain.
