Too much however is harmful especially for a woman. Because women are biologically smaller than men, the effects of alcohol are spread faster in the bloodstream. Moreover, because alcohol becomes dispersed through water in the body, its effects will take a longer time to dissolve in a woman's body because it has less water.

Childbearing age can begin at 11 or 12, making young girls more aware of their role in family life. In essence, they mature faster and stay vital for a longer period of time. They also have a great role to play in contraception and prevention of communicable diseases.

Major lifestyle changes such as acquiring a new job or moving can cause stress to women that manifests itself in a different compared to men. The loss of a loved one, for example, can impact the immune system making the body vulnerable to stress-related diseases. It is important for women to maintain psychological balance at such times and get help when needed.

Women are affected by the environment: pollution, allergens, dust mites, and the like. Health can be compromised if they live in certain locations. A woman can have allergies to pets. In addition to miscellaneous factors, some of which are avoidable, women can have innate issues that require medication and supplements to correct. Some lack vitamin B or D, the latter if they live in a foggy climate.

Women look forward to pregnancy, but there can be complications. Some get temporary diabetes, nausea, headaches, and aching joints. Exposure to those with flu or colds can compromise health and threaten the baby. At this critical time, good nutrition comes to the fore to ensure a healthy birth. Any deficiencies arising during pregnancy must be addressed. A program of diet and exercise can make all the difference.

A woman must have prepared her body before she gets pregnant. By this time, she must have had a healthy lifestyle. If not, she need to fight diseases by eating more fruits and vegetables and to always go to the doctor for a check up. If ever she gets sick, it is important to ask the doctor first if you can take medication because some medicines are harmful for the child.

The death of a loved one is a tragic event that can greatly affect a woman. Research says that traumatic events cause a negative effect on a woman's heart. During these times, she need more emotional and mental support more than ever. A woman has different health needs than men. During the ups and downs of life, a healthy body is important for a person to enjoy or survive these moments. A healthy lifestyle will always pay off in the long run.
