To add more flavor to your dishes, try adding some stock that you have prepared. If you make it in large quantities, you can store the excess in reseal able bags in your freezer. Doing so will give you the best stock for any dish that calls for it. Creating your own stock can reduce preservatives in the concoction that you cook.

Potatoes such as russets, which are designed for baking, will provide the harder shell needed when you make "twice baked" potatoes or potato-skin appetizers. You cannot use red potatoes because their skin is too thin to hold up to a dense filling.

There is not just one kind of potato, and each kind works best in different recipes. There are certain types of potatoes that are waxy, which are fine for boiled potatoes and potato salad, but are pretty awful for French fries, baked potatoes, and mashed potatoes. Russet potatoes will produce the fluffiest results.

Use leftover meats and vegetables to cook up a quick stir-fry at the end of the week. You can even use leftover rice, but if you need to make some, use slightly less water so that the rice is a little drier. The main ingredients should be fried in oil. Afterwards, you should toss in the rice and add plenty of seasonings and soy sauce.
