For most of us, our pets are seldom just animals-they are family. I mean, they stick by you no matter how you look or smell like; they are loyal and loving all the time. It's only natural that we feel so close to them and want to be good to them. If this is you, being good to them just got easier. Here are appetizing dog biscuit recipes that say "I love you" louder and clearer to your beloved pet.

Now, you may be asking, why would I want to make these homemade dog treats when I could just as easily run down to the grocery store and get a bag of processed pet food I can give to my pet? There are several of these products that are reasonably priced; but more than that-it's easy to open a bag and pour dry kibble into the dog's food dish.

While serving the store-bought feed is quite convenient for us, the homemade biscuits are indisputably better for the canine. Think about it, you can optimally manage his diet because you can choose the food that he eats; thereby making sure the right vitamins and nutrients are included in his diet. Aside from the health benefits of these homemade dog treats-- the dog's palate will also enjoy snacking on these better than the pre-packed, commercial pet food.

Actually, whipping up some really tasty dog biscuits isn't as hard as you would think. Several healthy canine recipes can actually be made together with the treats you cook for your own family. A good example is the beloved cookie. When you bake a batch of these trusty desserts; save a few extra mini cookies so you can give it to your dog. Be careful that it doesn't include ingredients that are toxic to canines like chocolates, raisins or caffeine.

Include fruits like bananas and mangoes in the dessert biscuits. You can also use oatmeal or peanut butter to add texture and creamy flavor. Be as creative as you can be-you will find yourself enjoying the whole process. Decorate and have fun with the shapes and sizes, it's a great activity you can involve the rest of your family in as well.

You can also bake canine savory treats-it's the easiest thing to do. All you need are some chopped up chicken or turkey meat and lay them on a greased baking pan. Sprinkle cheese over them and bake them until they are hardened and set. They should be cool before you give them to the dog. Organ meat pieces are also delicious dog snacks. Boil some in water seasoned with salt and cut them up for simple and delicious nibblers.

Whatever it is you choose to make, make it a point to look up on the ingredients you will be using. There are a lot of ingredients that are very harmful for canines when ingested in large amounts. Visit the vet to discuss dietary requirements your pet might need that you have to consider when planning your dog biscuit recipes. Now you're all set-cook up some yummy treats and enjoy the best time with your furry friend!
