The advent of sunless tanners has transformed the beauty industry massively. It is common to find these tanners in vast forms including gels, sprays, mousses, and lotions. With all these forms of tanning products, you need to ensure you choose those that work best for your skin. If you choose best self tanners, you can bronze the skin without causing imperfections or harming it. Sunless tanner lotion appears to be the most preferred of the different forms of tanners.

Gels on the other side, have their merits too. Basically, they are faster in drying and have a less sticky feel. Spray tan products are difficult to use. More often than not, applying them requires an extra help of a beautician. Nevertheless, they are still popular with most people using them for application on the face, neck, and upper chest.

Mousses have no moisture in them. They hence work pretty well in oily skins. Their tan also tends to fade unevenly. Care should be taken when using them since they may not go well with dry complexions. In tanning, is not just about the beauty you get, but also how long the glow lasts while not being smelly or producing imperfections like streaks.

If it is possible to maintain the beauty, then it is worth using the tanning product. To get more long lasting effects, sunless tanner has to be applied with a lot of astuteness. Skin exfoliation is usually the first step before the application of a tanner lotion. This is important especially in removing dead skin deposited on the surface of the skin. Moreover, this prevents the skin from blotching and acquiring an uneven tan.

Alternatively, you may use gloves before applying any tanner. This will help prevent soaking up any color meant for your body. When applying a tanner on joints especially the knees, ankles, and elbows, ensure that you dilute the self-tanner. This is because most of these areas tend to absorb more self tanner than the rest of the skin.

Diluting the tanner only requires you to lightly rub with a damp towel. When done with tanning, leave the skin to dry for about 10 minutes before dressing up. Only light and loose clothing should be garb ed. If plausible, sweating should be avoided at all cost. It can lead to drips of the applied tan thus causing streaks on skin.

Ensure that you only wear light apparels, which will prevent you from sweating. If you sweat before the tan has penetrated the skin, you may cause dripping, something that could lead to streaks and blotching. Applying sunscreen on a daily basis may be useful. The sunscreen applied should be capable of being used for both UVA and UVB protection.

It is also important to understand that dry spots may also absorb more color. This may in turn make the sections turn darker than the rest of the body. Rough areas of skin may require moisturizing before applying a tan product. You may want to avoid applying tanner on the areas that are obscured from sunlight. Sections such as the heels and soles should be kept tanner free.
