When deciding upon a spray tan, or a DIY product, there is always the slight fear and apprehension that might come along with the thought. Even unwillingly, and with today's advanced products, doubt seems to creep in, making you unsure of how it will turn out, or whether it will be a disastrous orange. By knowing how to remove sunless tanner easily, affordably and safely at home, it should put your mind at ease instantly.

Whether the problem is an incorrect color, or you have beautifully tanned skin, but your palms are as brown as the rest of your body, there are quite a few safe and gentle products that you could logically try before panicking! Once you have applied the self tanning product, immediately wash your hands with warm soapy water to rid your hands of any unwanted color. Better still, use silicone gloves to apply the tan evenly and eliminate the chance of brown palms.

If the problem persists, or you have visible streaks, then lemon juice can be a lifesaver. Either use the juice mixed with a little baking soda to form a powerful bleaching paste, or just simply rub the cut lemon over the worrying area directly. Lemon and baking soda are both brilliant ingredients to try, since even though they are powerful, they also are very gentle on the skin.

Streaks or blotches could very likely happen, if care is not taken to smooth the product on evenly and efficiently. These can be eliminated by lightly scrubbing the area, with a little baking soda mixed with lemon juice. Even whitening toothpaste can help, since both have a slight bleaching capacity.

Repeat this process daily for a more rapid result. Baby oil, also helps tremendously, even if it is more cumbersome. Slather it onto the skin, and allow it to absorb for a good 10 minutes, where after you can shower and exfoliate generously.

If the problem is only on the palms or the feet, or perhaps you have a visible streak, then lemon juice is wonderful natural bleach, which is gentle and safe. It can also be combined with baking soda, to form a paste and applied to the skin, where you will gently rub the affected areas to eliminate any unwanted color. Repeat as often as you feel your skin can handle it, and be as moderate as you possibly can.

Immediately after you have administered your faux tan, if you find the color is too intense or not exactly the shade you were after, then run a warm bath with a little baking soda in it for a good long soak. This will wash away some of the product and lighten its effects. Scrub the skin lightly with a moisturizing exfoliating sponge to speed up the process.

No matter how bad you think the results of the self tanning project, there is a way to lighten the effects and also to rid you of visible mistakes. The instructions are important for a professional outcome, so be sure to study them well and follow the guide as closely as possible. With a little research prior to slathering it on, you will make an educated choice as to which should deliver an even and silky, natural-looking tan. Now you are ready to take on the task with confidence and vigor, to reveal the most beautiful you ever.
