In order to get the beautiful bronzed skin that will make you look gorgeous, you should opt for skin sunless tanning. Beauty gives a person more courage as well as self confident. It also helps raise self esteem. There are various ways of skin tanning but not all are safe. The most advisable and preferred mode of tanning is the use of the best self tanner products. Body tanning through basking under the sun has been known to cause some skin problems.

Previously, people have been basking under the sun as one way of achieving a bronze skin look. Tan beds have also been used to help glow the body skin. However, since it was discovered that sun rays and tan beds cause some serious skin conditions like cancer, people are now opting for the safer self tanner lotions, gels, mousses, and sprays.

Failure to follow the application procedure may not give you the exact look that you may desire. The most important step of all is skin cleansing. With clean skin, the tan will always work as desired since it gets the ability to adhere to your dermis. Some people could be allergic to some of the active ingredients used in the manufacturing of tanning lotions.

It is always advisable to do a spot test so as to determine whether your skin will react to the tan or not. This is prudent for first timers, as they want to choose a tanning lotion that does to harm them. It is essential to evaluate the type of tan that may not affect your skin.

You should apply the spot test on the most sensitive areas of your skin. The sense behind this is that, if a tan does not cause some form of reaction at the most sensitive part of your body, it will not react on other areas. The face is usually the most sensitive skin area of the body, and it is advisable that you do a spot test on a small section of your face.

For the case of facial hair, try to apply some moisturizer on your hairline. Applying a tan on sensitive skin might lead to irritation that will make you feel uncomfortable. Some areas of the body tend to be more sensitive than others. The face is usually the most sensitive part of the body skin, and you may use that part to test the tan product. Patch testing helps determine the suitability of a sunless product.

Oil based scrubs have oils that tend to block the pores thus causing the tan not to soak in skin. Make sure that you clean the folded and hard areas of your body. These parts include the knees, elbows, and hands. Such areas have a tendency of harboring dead skin, oils, and debris. Failure to do this may cause the tanner to leave black or white spots on your skin.

Apart from taking a shower, shaving is another important point to consider. Make sure that you shave a day prior to application. Body hair hinders the tan from holding on to the skin. Shaving body hair a day earlier gives your body skin time to go back to its normal level of sensitivity. Immediately after shaving the skin, it is usually more sensitive, and it may react to the tan.
