Classes are often mixed, consisting of students varying from very young to the aged, males and females and even disabled people.

Numerous studies have been conducted to investigate the medical benefits offered by Asana. There are also definite links between the practice of this philosophy and improvements experienced by cancer patients. In addition, those suffering from conditions such as depression and anxiety have reported considerable improvements.

Beginners should keep in mind that there are more than one acceptable approach to Asana. It may be worthwhile to ask advice from experts and to choose the approach most suitable. Practitioners say that they feel healthier, fitter and more content. It is safe, it does not cost a lot and it does not require special equipment. It can be practiced anywhere and at any time.
